Preamble

Welcome to my blog.

Na chora haaryam na cha raja kaaryam         - That which can't be stolen or isn't a concern for the king                                                                             that he taxes it

Na brathru bhajyam na cha bharakaari          - That which is not a property that has be divided and                                                                                  owned  by  brothers (siblings)

Vyaye kruthe vardhatha evam nithyam     -  That which, the more you share (teach/preach) , the more                                                                             you gain

Vidya dhanam sarva dhana pradhanam     -   Knowledge is the most important of all wealth.

This isn't a blog, exclusively, about spirituality but how can I skip the prayers before doing a good deed.

Here you find information about the Vedhas, Indian culture, languages, medicine, spirituality and everything connected and related that I find amusing, enthusing and entertaining. Isn't everything connected anyway? [Scroll to the end for some pronunciation tips on words used]

The greater goal is to understand oneself. Isn't that what most of us try to do everyday , perhaps every moment? Isn't that what we try to make a meaning out of, out of the minute moments and things we do in those moments? And when we have achieved most of this goal then comes the much greater goal, - To Understand Him.

Reading the Sri Ishopanishad, as interpreted, commented and taught by Shri Bhakti Vedanta Prabhupada, understanding and agreeing to what he has purported (meant in its noun sense not verb sense) , I re-quote what he has quoted as to what Lord Krishna himself said.

"Vedhanta krith vedha vidh evaka aham".  - I am the creator of  Vedhanta and I am Vedha myself.

That says it all, how far can one go to understand the Vedha or Him.

And as I inappropriately put it as to have "agreed to" what Swamiji said I still stand by that statement. I stand by that statement to create this persona that is necessary (as I feel) , necessary to be delusional, arrogant, innocent, tenacious, scared, apprehensive and eventually ignorant (that we prove eventually) just like Arjuna in the battle of Mahabharatha, who was all that before he heard the Bhagavad Gita from Lord Krishna. And I also completely agree that I myself isn't different from that persona and comment all the way as  I realize , even better,  the meaning of what I learnt and what I preach. This persona is nothing but the common-grounds-persona that one can envisage in recent times about Vedha or knowledge. This is the other inappropriate interchanged usage of Vedha with Knowledge (here).

Thus everything you read here is what I imbibe(d) from my environment (life, reading, work, people) and experience(d) and nothing beyond and no where near to the first goal of understanding oneself. While that happens, I do take intermittent detours and raincheck on the ultimate goal as laid above.

Indeed in this attempt to take you along with me in my travel, I might give you some wrong information. This defective persona is what you need to travel with and eventually rise above from the delusion and misinterpretation by way of following the more appropriate and accurate resources.

Interestingly all we do here is pursue Avidhya (again as what Swami Prabhupadha has explained) and I feel this is the essential failure we need to face. We need to face this to finally settle on the right path. The right path to pursue Vidhya.

Finally, one keeps hearing the below prayer and wonder what it is. This is the prayer that you can hear as a preamble to the IIT madras training videos shared in YouTube for example.

Om Sahana vavathu sahanau bhunakthu

Sahaveeryam karavavahai

thejasvinavadhi tamastu Ma vidhvishavahai

Om shanthi shanthi shanthi hi

In short, this is a prayer sung by the teacher and the taught, that means and also is, to promote a peaceful, amicable, joint-venture to achieve the above goals (sort-of) , that I mentioned.

Hope you learn something new here. Happy to receive feedback and discuss further on these topics.

Pronunciation - I wanted this blog to be an easy-read for most readers. So, English being the medium , I use some pronunciation keys but not the international one. I do not want to worry about the script but I do worry about pronouncing some of the words used (especially Sanskrit etc.).

dh - d as in dhanush (almost like the th sound in wither but stronger), d - d sound as in drum, ch - ch as in chew,

th -th as in theresa, bh as bh in abhor, aa - a as in art but elongated "a" sound

Do understand , correct and clarify yourself more on the slokas as well as the other information,  given here. Almost all of it is already available online.
